Dealing in Death

 

The Genoese have long been blamed for bringing the Black Death to Europe in 1347. While certainly, that is an exaggeration, in this episode we consider how Yersinia Pestis spread throughout Europe using the same trade routes as the Italian merchants. Sicily would be hit first, followed by Genoa itself and then all of Northern Italy.
