Episode 133: The Last Gasp

With the death of John, Duke of Bedford, things quickly go from bad to worse for the English in the Hundred Years’ War. Henry VI, who now grew from a mere child into a young man, proved quite immediately he was nothing like his father.

Charles VII, on the other, finally grew into his own. The English desperately try to hang on to what little of France remains in their control. But, by 1453, any hope of an English victory passed into the night and, though few realized it at the time, the Hundred Years’ War came to an end.
