Episode 134: The Byzantines

Today we begin a new story arc. One that will end with the final defeat of the Romans. Rome has long ceased to be a major player in our story. Yet, the Byzantines thought of themselves as Romans and, hence, the Romans have persisted despite the new name. Now, we crest the final hill before our last descent. In this episode, we pick up with the Byzantines where we last left off, the Fourth Crusade, and bring them up to that critical year, 1453.
