Indentured Servitude Simulation
Students will engage with the content by putting themselves into the shoes of someone who has to make the difficult choice whether to remain in Europe or take the change and become and indentured servant. While some students are assigned roles and must decide, others are designated “convincers” and have to try to get the others to either leave for the New World or stay in Europe. It all culminates with a (usually intense) vote.
